If you are interested in cutting edge technology as much as we are at BearIT then you will be happy to see that we are being treating to a bunch of new products and launch events in the upcoming months. Apple have announced a “gather round” event on the 12th of September which lines up with previous announcement dates of their Iphone line, suggesting that we could see some new smartphone’s coming from the tech giant very soon. Rumoured to release is a line-up of 3 new phones speculated to be called the Iphone 9, the Iphone XS and the Iphone XS Max. Currently going off of leaked images it is thought the XS will feature a 5.8” screen and the XS Max thought to have a larger 6.5” display. Not much else is known about the devices so it is interesting to see what innovations apple will bring to the table.
Google have confirmed that they are launching its Pixel 3 line-up on the 9th of October. The Pixel 3 XL is said to be running android 9 nicknamed “Pie” and is said to ship with USB-C Pixel earbuds, a USB-C to headphone socket adaptor, and a USB-C ‘Quick Switch Adaptor’ suggesting no in-built headphone jack. From leaked photos the Pixel 3 XL also seems to only have one rear facing camera suggesting that Google are not buying it in the current trend of having 2 rear facing camera to improve perspective information that can be gathered when the camera is in use.
Another big competitor in the smartphone market Huawei who are having a launch date on the 16th of October. Its upcoming “Mate 20” flagship model is said to will a pack a Kirin 980 SoC, touted as the “world’s first commercially available 7nm chipset.” The Kirin 980 SoC is speculated to offer a 20 per cent boost in performance and will make the chip 40 per cent more power efficient than its 10nm equivalent. This device is also rumoured to feature a 6.3in QHD AMOLED screen, 6GB RAM, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, face-scanning features, a 42MP triple-camera setup on its rear and support for 40W fast charging.
Microsoft is also teasing an upcoming event called “a moment of your time” scheduled for the 2nd of October. It is thought to be a release of new surface hardware however a new surface phone is not out of the question. That being said, Microsoft have not released a lot of information so far so hopefully they’ve cracked the code on time travel technology we’ve been promised in science fiction for years.
